iphone4 india launch sept 2010 228x250 WOW: Vodafone India Confirms iPhone 4 For India

This is awesome news. Vodafone India has just confirmed that it will bring iPhone 4 to India by this September. “Vodafone Essar will launch iPhone 4, the thinnest smartphone in the world, in India in the coming months,” the company said. Airtel might do the same in next one of two days. This news was broken by CIOL sometime back. Here is rest of the details.iPhone 4, the sensational smartphone that Apple released on Monday, will be launched in India by Vodafone Essar. However, Vodafone did not provide any details about the date of availability. According to a CNN-IBN report, it is likely that the iPhone 4’s India launch date will be sometime in late September when the phone is slated for release in 88 countries worldwide. The smartphone will be initially available in the US, France, Germany, Britain and Japan.

Vodafone and Airtel have been selling the earlier versions of iPhones in India.

No details have been provided on the price either. As per my expectations, 16GB should cost around Rs. 36,000 ($780) and 32GB Rs.41,000 ($890). And iPhone 3GS will be available in 8GB version along post iPhone 4 launch and might cost around Rs.29,000 ($630).

Closeup Photos of the Official iPhone 4 Bumper

AppAdvice has posted some closeup photos of the new Bumper case for the iPhone 4.

Dress up your iPhone 4 with a Bumper. Choose one of six colors — white, black, blue, green, orange, or pink — and slip it around the edge of your iPhone 4. With metal buttons for volume and power, two-tone colors, and a combination of rubber and molded plastic, Bumpers add a touch of style to any iPhone 4.

iPhone 4 Glass Shatters Easily ?

A new report by iFixYouri suggests that although Apple claims the iPhone 4 glass is incredibly strong, it shatters very easily.

Apple says the glass is "chemically strengthened to be 30 times harder than plastic, more scratch resistant and more durable than ever."

iFixYouri notes that 95% of glass shattering is caused by shock and sudden impact rather than bending. They decided to put the glass to the test.

We have a full iPhone 4(minus the circuit board), here at our shop and decided to do a little drop test. This drop was performed from 3.5 ft up. Mind you that these parts ARE original apple parts. Laser etched and all. The iPhone 4 did survive 2 drops, as expected, but on the 3rd drop there was a loud POP, and yet again, shattered glass.

The site believes that the new design has flaw which contributes to this easy shattering. On the new iPhone, the glass basically sits on top of the aluminum frame. On the old iphone, it was recessed and protected by a chrome bezel.

This may be why Apple has announced its own official cases for the iPhone 4. These cases called "Bumpers" slip around the edge of your iPhone 4 and likely cushion the impact to the glass when dropped.

Prince of Persia Classic released for iPhone

Probably has something to do with the forthcoming high-profile film, but rather the owners of the iPhone will have a nostalgic meeting with one of the best games for mobile platforms ever created. Iglezhda Prince of Persia classic will be in the App Store sometime in late June. For those unfamiliar with the game, Prince of Persia is a platform title that came to light during the 80’s along with other classic games like Super Mario Brothers, but clearly distinguished from them because of its beautiful graphics, smooth animation and rewarding battle system. A team of Ubisoft will take care to leave the game for the iPhone, but there a whole new generation of gamers’ s to come.

Adobe scraps work to bring Flash apps to iPhone

What a difference two weeks and a few words of legalese can make to the future of a widely used programming technology.

In that span of time, Adobe Systems has gone from touting its technology for building Flash applications that run on the iPhone to canceling future development of that technology.

When Apple changed the terms of its iPhone 4.0 software developer kit license, it effectively blocked Adobe’s move. But in his Tuesday announcement that Adobe will cease future development of the Flash-apps-on-iPhone technology, Mike Chambers, Adobe’s principal product manager for the Flash platform, let loose a tirade that indicates the battle between the two companies isn’t over yet.

“As developers for the iPhone have learned, if you want to develop for the iPhone you have to be prepared for Apple to reject or restrict your development at any time, and for seemingly any reason,” Chambers said. “The primary goal of Flash has always been to enable cross browser, platform and device development. The cool Web game that you build can easily be targeted and deployed to multiple platforms and devices. However, this is the exact opposite of what Apple wants. They want to tie developers down to their platform, and restrict their options to make it difficult for developers to target other platforms.”

Not all browsers offer this support. But soon other modern browsers will take advantage of these same web standards — and the amazing things they enable web designers to do.

You can see demos of Video, Typography, Galleries, Transitions, Audio, 360 Degree Views, and VR.

Google Goggles is Coming to the iPhone Soon

Google has announced that it will be bringing its Google Goggles app to the iPhone soon, according to ReadWriteWeb.

In a presentation Thursday at the Augmented Reality Event in Santa Clara, California, Google project manager Shailesh Nalawadi was asked about the app during the Q&A. Nalawadi said, "Yes, we will be coming to the iPhone soon."

iPhone 4G Will Likely Launch in June [18th?]

Information from AT&T store reps and a few mathematical calculations make June 18th a likely date for the release of the iPhone 4G, according to the BGR.

We have confirmed with multiple AT&T store reps that their sales quotas for the month of June are ridiculously high. Yes, this means the iPhone is confirmed to launch in June, not July. Knowing how many units stores received per day/week last year, if the iPhone launched in the last week of June, on Friday the 25th, we’re pretty sure the new sales quotas couldn’t be met (in-store orders don’t count as they don’t get recognized until the customer picks them up). We have heard stores having a 25-30% increase in their sales quota, so we’d like to think the next Apple iPhone will launch on Friday, June 18th.

Previous rumors suggested that Apple wants to release the new iPhone as soon as possible due its earlier then expected unveiling.
